WHAT IS AIKIDO? The word Aikido means “the way of harmonizing energy”. Aikido is a Japanese martial art founded by Morihei Ueshiba, O’ Sensei, in the 1920’s. The youngest of the traditional budo arts of Japan, Aikido is nonetheless one that is firmly grounded in ancient disciplines and a timeless philosophy.

WHY CONFLICT RESOLUTION? Conflict can be described as a collision between forces or energy. Conflict itself is neither good nor bad, but the result can be. Stress can be a major cause of conflicts and is rising at an alarming rate in our high schools, colleges and in the work place. Many adults have a difficult time resolving conflicts in a manner that restores order.

THE AIKIDO RESOLUTIONS FOUNDATION The Aikido Resolutions Foundation was founded to address a growing need to teach conflict resolution skills to students high school aged and older. Using decades of training experience in Aikido, the instructors provide a fresh method for learning conflict resolution through training in Aikido and utilizing Aikido principles and philosophies.
